  Pioneer in Defense of Women’s Rights Dies at 83   
Judith Vladeck ’47, a recipient of the CLS Medal of Excellence, died in Manhattan on January 8th at the age of 83. A prominent labor lawyer known for her meticulous research and courtroom showmanship, she was a pioneer in defending the rights of women against some of this country’s largest corporations and universities.

A record number of attendees turned out to honor Vice Chairman of JPMorgan Chase & Co. Michael Patterson '67 and Goldman Sachs Executive Vice President and General Counsel Esta Stecher '82 with the Medal for Excellence at Columbia Law School's Winter Luncheon on January 19.
