The Columbia Law School Association

"To revive and perpetuate, by annual meetings and public exercises, the memory and mutual good feeling of those who have participated in common labors, common pleasures, and common benefits in their preparation for the legal profession, and to advance by every means, within the power of its members, the interests of the Law School and of the Association." Since then, the Columbia Law School Association has remained true to its initial goals, while expanding to a world wide network of engaged Columbia Law School alumni/ae.

The Association keeps you connected to the Law School in many ways: by letting you know about life at the School; by providing you with a link to students, faculty, and graduates; and by advising you of special programs and events of professional interest. The Association sponsors events throughout the year in New York, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C., as well as in other locations throughout the country and around the world. Participation in these events provides graduates with a means of maintaining contact with the Law School.

The Medal for Excellence, the Law School's most prestigious award, is presented annually to alumni and past or present faculty whose distinguished careers have demonstrated exceptional service to their profession and to the Law School and are notable for the qualities the Law School seeks to instill in its students: strong character and a sense of social and professional responsibility.
