Transcripts

Transcripts are maintained not by the Law School but by the Columbia University Office of the Registrar.  Please click on the following link for full details on how to request a copy of your transcript. There is no fee for this service.

Replacement Diplomas

The Office of the Registrar will order a replacement diploma if the original has been damaged or lost or if there has been a change of name.  Please note that replacement diplomas will display the signatures of the current Columbia University President and Law School Dean but will show the original date of the award.  For the required form and full details for submitting your request, please go to

State Bar Exams

The application for the New York State Bar exam can be accessed through the following link: www.nybarexam.org. The "Certificate of Attendance" and other forms can be downloaded by clicking on "The Bar Examination". To request the completion of the Certificate, contact the Law School Registrar's Office by e-mail at registrar@law.columbia.edu and by telephone at 212-854-2668. Inquiries regarding the bar exams of other states may be directed here also.


To Verify a Columbia Law School Degree

Transcripts are maintained not by the Law School but by the Columbia University Office of the Registrar.   Requests for the verification of a Columbia Law School degree may be applied to that office using the Academic Certification Request Form, an official document provided by the University Registrar to certify a graduate's enrollment and degree (see the Academic Certification Request Form link below).  Alternatively, such requests may be made to the National Student Clearinghouse by telephone to 703-742-4200 or online (see National Student Clearinghouse link below).
